Zoom cloud meetings app review

Home » Internet Service. We like Zoom because it delivers huge meeting capacities and reliable streaming performance, but we can't give it five stars due to its lackluster free plan. Zoom has become so popular in the past couple of months that it has joined the pantheon of brand names that somehow became verbs. Zoom has arrived. Zoom deserves its popularity due to its impressive performance, overall stability, and wide array of features, but its popularity has also been something of a double-edged sword.

Zoom has, by far, the highest meeting capacity out of all the major video conferencing platforms. We tested a meeting that had approximately people on the call, and the system worked beautifully. The audio and video came in clearly, and screen sharing worked as it should. You can probably get your entire company on the same call, which really helps for companies working remotely. Zoom doubles what other video conference apps can do.

The resemblance is honestly uncanny. Zoom has, on average, the least amount of latency and highest frame rates we could get out of an internet connection. Okay, so what do all those numbers mean?

The main stat that you want to worry about is your latency rate. In my case, it takes 17 milliseconds from when I say something until it ends up being heard on the call. Then it takes 24 milliseconds for me to see what other people are saying and doing. According to tech-company-juggernaut Cisco who owns Webex , anything less than a millisecond latency is acceptable for video conferencing. The Reviews. Note: Some of these pictures are probably not their subjects' ideal image of themselves!

Taking out all of that ambient noise can make for a much more focused meeting. You can even select an option to touch up your appearance while on a Zoom call. It will probably work better for you. We can all live without being Zoombombed, thank you very much. Zoom makes itself available on basically every platform you can imagine. As you can tell, Zoom covers its bases when it comes to computers, browsers, phones, and tablets.

No other video conference app has figured this out yet, but maybe Zoom can be the one to pull it off. You might as well use the free version of Webex and get people on a call. Along with the lower capacity, the Pro Zoom plan also strips down some of the best features, like scheduling and cloud recording transcripts. The price for the plans may be the same per user, but the Enterprise plan requires at least users, and the Business plan only requires only at least 10 users.

If you just plan on using the free version of Zoom, you can find better alternatives out there. The biggest wart with the free Zoom plan is that your calls will always end at the minute mark. What I like the most about Zoom Meetings is that it has the most basic features that a video conferencing application must have which includes: two way audio and video, screensharing, chat box, screen recording, and some features that is useful for presentation such as annotation and whiteboard.

It is also my favorite of having the choice whether the camera will be HD or original which is useful when saving data bandwidth. Also, since we do demo lessons and reporting because I am an education student, having this app a built-in feature of noise cancellation is very useful so that listeners will not be distracted.

What I think I like the least about this software and I usually find annoying is that I am not able to see my audience when I am presenting my screen. It makes me feel like I am not connected to them because I can't see their reactions especially whenever I am presenting. Also, I find myself lost whenever there is someone asking and I can't even look in their name so I can't acknowledge them and I have to ask their name first.

This is my concern and I am not sure if Zoom really does not have this feature, or they have but I can't only find it. For my online class, the Zoom interface is really straightforward and easy to use.

Audio signatures and passwords can be used to protect my privacy. I can also lock a meeting as a host to prevent people who haven't yet joined from joining. I can get closed captions with Zoom by integrating third-party solutions to make sure the feature works.

Zoom is a video and audio conferencing platform that allows users to record meetings. Zoom allows or more people to participate in a video call. The app's gallery view allows for up to 49 players to be displayed on one screen. However, if I wish to add more users, the program enables for up to persons to be added.

To safeguard my connection, I can utilize AES encryption or end-to-end encryption. Furthermore, Zoom's whiteboard features allow users to doodle on many slides and screens. Zoom does not support emojis, but it does support GIFs. Admins can turn on and off this video conferencing tool. The free bundle of Zoom virtual conferencing is limited. It can make an unlimited number of calls that are limited to 40 minutes in length.

If I upgrade to a pro account, however, the time limit is extended to 24 hours. Free users can only save up to 1GB of recordings on their PCs, whereas all paid plans allow for cloud storage. There is currently no support for HD video. Zoom offers more detailed data and keeps them for a longer amount of time than Google Meet. In terms of tracking and statistics, Zoom comes out on top.

Industry: Health, Wellness and Fitness. Generally Zoom has been a life saver especially for the kind of work I do. I mostly work in remote areas and so its capability to work sufficiently even in areas with poor network is the reason it is my go to app for personal and work related remote meetings. It is comparatively easy to use and join meetings since it does not have tedious sign up and log in requirements.

What I like most about zoom is over time they have made useful updates to make remote working and online meetings more efficient.

The real time screen sharing option has been helpful in teaching and sharing notes and also the fact that you can share your screen and still see participants. My favorite feature about zoom is that it still works relatively well in poor connections as is prone in third world countries like mine. Other updates like the ability of the host being able to mute noisy participants has also been helpful.

Zoom has made connecting with workmates, friends and family easier. It is also easy to use and has so many features to easen interactions in this crazy times. I still wish the time limit for the free version of zoom be longer than the 1 hour 40 minutes but something free it is still quite sufficient.

Zoom is relatively cheaper especially when is comes to internet usage and I found teams to have complicated sign up procedures. Zoom has been a 'life saver' for our organization. It helped our staff stay connected during the pandemic as we were working remotely. Zoom has collapsed the distance barrier in our organization as we feel a sense of togetherness anytime meetings are held online. Zoom has helped us make more profit with far less expenses.

The ease of use. Anyone can use zoom irrespective of education level. The instructions for use are so detailed and simple to understand. The 'mute Microphone' button is magical. It means there will be no disturbances and interference in a meeting. Customer support. The Zoom customer support is excellent. The screen sharing feature is a great feature anytime anyday. The ability to turn off and on my video. It glitches sometimes and that cannslow down the pace of a meeting.

The inability of Zoom to host meetings of longer duration than its maximum capacity. The fact that I can't use some features on my phone, such as recording. Ease of use. Zoom is far easier to use. Zoom has features that are not only good but relevant. The zoom user interface is easy to relate with and understand. There are lots of things that are helpful about Zoom, especially during a time when working from home was required.

I have always had a really hard time paying attention to someone over the phone, so working from home was daunting. But I have found that if I can look at someone's face while they are talking, I don't get as distracted -- even if we aren't in the same room together.

Having virtual meetings be a more normalized option has made me better at my job, and Zoom has made it easier for everyone to have access to video chat services -- on their computer or on their phone.

Zoom has made it easier for me to build and maintain relationships in my personal and professional life, regardless of if someone has an android or iphone. I'm more productive during meetings and am able to retain more details about the conversation.

Zoom is also superior in this way because of where I can move the windows around. So I can move people's faces in the order that is the most productive for me like who is talking vs everyone at once, etc. There are too many clicks needed to do anything.

When I log in, I wish I could schedule a meeting without having to click into my account page. When I want to change my virtual background, I wish I didn't have to take clicks to do that. Video quality is better in zoom, and Google Hangouts didn't translate as well across user experiences, like it was better for people with a gmail account vs outlook. Video Conferencing Software. I really really recommend it even has a choice that you can even private chat to the host and other classmates! Once people join you can make those people the Co-Host the Co-Host has the same thing as the host, Just that the host has more advantage in the Zoom can end the meeting, change peoples names, chat with people and more things. Zoom is wonderful. Zoom is the best app and choice of doing online school it really just helps a lot! You can do loads of things! Zoom is the 1 choice best for teacher, Schools and students!

Thanks for reading! I would still use this amazing app. I have some recommendations for this app. I think when the teacher parent tutor etc, is sharing they should have something that can disable kids from writing on the screen.
